Storage

We operate network storage servers from Synology. The NAS file servers can be accesed from either our internal network or externally over the Internet. From the Internet, they are accessed using web protocols.

Within our offices in Annapolis Junction or New Market each NAS acts is a local Windows file server and is accessed on the local area network with normal Windows File Sharing from the Windows Explorer file browser that is part of the Windows Operating system.

Remote file access over the Internet is also available from a web browser such as Internet Explorer. The Synology File Station and Desktop Storage Manager applications provide these services over encrypted web connections. For security, this connection is encrypted using our corporate system. For this to work on your computers, you have to install our Root Certificate, so that your systems can recognize our secure servers.
